EDGE Career Program

Overview

The EDGE Career Program is funded by Manitoba Economic Development and Training and Community Partnerships. EDGE Career is a full-time customized employment preparation and job skills training program, serving the St. Vital community for over 30 years. EDGE Career helps low-income, income-assisted adults and New Canadians find long-term meaningful employment.



Description

The program operates Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. offering life skills, employability skills and computer training. The program also works to help qualified candidates access short-term vocational training or work experience leading to long-term, sustainable employment.



Program Components include:

  • Self-Assessment
  • Life Skills/Personal Development
  • Computer Skills
  • Employability Skills
  • Resume writing, information interviews, interview preparation
  • Vocational Training or Work Experience
  • Placement, self-marketing and follow-up


Eligible participants:

  • Unemployed, Underemployed, Adults on EIA.
  • Permanent residents,Refugees or work permits.
